The main claim that is being made by Lexington is the fact that the summer jobs for young people to engage in are on a decline.

<h3>The decline of the American summer Job</h3>

In this article, Lexington stated that the summer jobs were on a decline.

From his words, about 72 percent of American youths used to be employed in Summer jobs as at July 1978 from the country's bureau of statistics.

The decline can be seen in the 2016 statistics that has only about 43 percent of the youths working on summer jobs.

Plz help!!!!<br> what are the pros and cons of the hetch hetchy dam
kykrilka [37]
Pros: Hetch Hetchy is an iconic, rare and spectacular landscape,
Hetch Hetchy is part of Yosemite National Park and its damming and flooding is by far the worst destruction of our national parks have ever experienced
Restoration would not only make Yosemite whole once again it would inspire people that we don’t need to live with mistakes of the past

Cons: Prinstine – Hetch Hetchy Reservoir collects and stores pristine snowmelt and precipitation from the protected Yosemite National Park wilderness area.
No Filtration – Water collected and stored in Hetch Hetchy Reservoir’s granite basin consistently meets and exceeds Federal and State Filtration standards for safe drinking water. No filtration of this source water is necessary or required.
Reliable Water Delivery – The water storage provided by Hetch Hetchy Reservoir is invaluable in its ability to capture snowmelt and store the water for reliable delivery throughout the year and across multiple years. This storage is heavily depended upon during droughts when the natural hydrology is in capable of meeting water needs even when rationing is in place.
Gravity-Driven – The high elevation of Hetch Hetchy Reservoir and the engineering infrastructure of the Regional Water System move water from its source, across the state, and to its customers using little more than gravity.
Renewable, Dependable Electricity – Hetch Hetchy Reservoir, along with the waters retained in Cherry Lake and Lake Eleanor, provide the gravity-drivein water that is transformed into renewable, dependable electricity.”

Explain Thoreau's figurative use of the word “burrowing” in the final paragraph. What is he digging for?
ch4aika [34]

Henry David Thoreau was an American essayist, poet, philosopher, abolitionist, naturalist, tax resister, development critic, surveyor, and historian, two of his greatest works are: "Resistance to Civil Government" (also known as "Civil Disobedience") and "The Mask of Anarchy". His ideals can be summarized by this statement: “the Government should not have more power than the bestowed by its citizens”.

Henry David Thoreau was even imprisoned for refusing to pay taxes in protest for the Mexican-American War and the slavery.

Thoreau was an idealist; he opposed the oppression and tyranny from the government and I think that more people like him should exist for we need more free thinkers to defend the common citizen from the oppressive government we sometimes have.

In the first Chapter of Walden, "Economy," Thoreau explains how and why he wanted to live alone and why simplicity would help him to be more free. With less luxuries, less property, and less material things, a man is more free to do as he pleases.

this is the paragraph that you should have included from Economy:

<em>"My instinct tells me that my head is an organ for burrowing, as some creatures use their snout and fore paws, and with it I would mine and burrow my way through these hills."</em>

In this paragraph Thoreau uses the word Burrowing as "obtaining" or "acquiring" what he needs to live from the world and its nature. He is digging for nourishment and food, for both his body and soul. He is suggesting that we can live off from nature without depending from the social system or the government.

Does characteristics and main idea means same??
son4ous [18]

Answer:

No. A characteristic is something you possess like she is smart, he is witty, you laugh everyday, he is kind, they are determined, she is passionate.

A main idea is more of writing term as in "What is the main idea in your paper?" If you were asked that about a paper about The Renaissance

You would say, "The Renaissance."

Or go in more depth like, "The main idea is the Renaissance I transition into from the Dark Ages and go into depth about the writers, artists, and musicians."

Explanation:

Hope this helps!

What type of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation did John have for coping with his disorder? for the movie a beautiful
NNADVOKAT [17]

<em>Intrinsic Motivation is a type of motivation wherein a person would behave in a way because he enjoys it not because he has something to gain financially or anything.  Extrinsic are focused on prized and rewards.</em>

<em>One of the examples of John's intrinsic motivation in the movie is he choose to see those characters that he encounters in his hallucinations but he did not interact with them anymore. He choose to see them because he enjoys their company around. but probably, he knows that they are just a part of his sickness but he did not talk to them because that is what he supposed to do. Those characters are not real and they are just a product of his mind. </em>

<em>As of extrinsic motivation, when he received a noble prize award and other recognition he knows that he should keep on doing and discover new things about math and formula which he was passionate about in spite of his sickness.  </em>
