For the Three Governors Controversy, the correct answer is "C".

The "Three Governors Controversy" in Georgia was a political dispute that originated after the sudden death of Governor-elect Eugene Talmadge, who never occupied office as he died a couple of days prior to his start in office. The three men who disputed the position were:

  • Ellis Arnall, who was the governor who was ending his period.
  • Melvin E. Thompson, as lieutenant governor.
  • Herman Talmadge, as Eugene's son.

The dispute will eventually end between Thompson, who had the newly created position of lieutenant governor and Talmadge. The General Assembly would eventually give Talmadge the seat in January 1947.

For the Funding of Summer Olympic Games, the correct answer is "D".

Even though the games were geographically located in the state of Georgia. This was considered as a national event. However, it was not under the functions of the federal government to fund such activity. It would then be given to private entities that would sponsor the event.
