The United States and Great Britain during World War 2 (1939-1945) signed the Atlantic Charter that set a vision for the post-war world with support from 26 Allied Nations which became one of the first steps towards the establishment of the United Nations.
On 14th August 1941, The Atlantic Charter was issued by the then U.S president Franklin Roosevelt, and the British Prime minister, Winston Churchhill. The charter further served as an inspiration for thirds world countries that fought for independence i.e. Vietnam, Ghana
