Saturday is my favourite day of the week because on Saturday, I watch rugby with my dad. On other days, I also get to watch rugb

y, but not all day. There are other sports on other days to watch on TV. Some days my dad doesn't make it home from work until after I'm in bed. The highlight of the day is when we watch the Springboks play. Dad and I get so excited, we yell and cheer together. That's why look forward to Saturdays, watching TV with my dad. Saturday supper is a favourite of mine because eat with my father in front of the TV. All the other days, I have to eat at the table which is less fun. Dad gives me money and I go to the KFC on the corner. The lady there knows me and prepares my regular order as soon as she sees me. I enjoy chicken burgers and chips, because I can eat with my hands.5. This paragraph includes several irrelevant details. There seems a lack of unity as well. Re-write the above paragraph, improving the unity and clarity - you might have to split the paragraph and write it in a more concise manner.

For this assignment, you will write an evaluation of either of two historic passages.
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

Henry seeks to engage his audience by showing his respect for them. He recognizes and compliments the patriotism and abilities of the other members of the Convention in his first sentence (note that Henry continues to address the body as the House). He prepares his audience by expresses the hope that they will show him the same respect when he states in sentence 2, “I hope it will not be thought disrespectful…” Even though he will be speaking contrary to what has been previously presented, he reminds his audience that they are all colleagues by referring to the entire group, as in sentence 6, “we can hope to arrive at the truth.”

The purpose of the debate, of which this speech is a part, is to “arrive at truth” and fulfill the “great responsibility which we hold to God and our country” (sentence 6). He is appealing to the ethical integrity of his audience by articulating their earthly and heavenly responsibilities.

The first two paragraphs form the introduction (Exordium). The Exordium attempts to engage the audience, to prepare them for the message to come, and to explain the purpose (thesis) of the speech.

The third paragraph provides the statement of fact (Narratio) and argument (Confirmatio). The Narratio contextualizes the argument, presenting any background information necessary, while the Confirmatio explains the evidence that supports the thesis.

The fourth paragraph presents and refutes counter arguments (Refutatio).

The final paragraph forms the conclusion (Peroratio). The Peroratio serves several purposes: to restate an argument, to amplify reasoning, to inspire an audience, and to rouse emotional responses.

Conclusions related to historical events are limited to subjective evaluation of the existing evidence. TRUE or FALSE.
Dmitry [639]
I believe the answer to this is "true." Really, all conclusions on all events are subjective. But considering history, conclusions on events are especially prone to subjectivity. Consider who writes the history books. If one country wins a war against another country, they will write about themselves as the noble party and portray the enemy as villainous. However, this may not be the real case. This occurs much more than we think, and we must research different events to make sure we are not blindly buying into what people say. Hope this helps.
