Answer:

Kameron has 5 quarters in his wallet

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x----> the number of nickels

y----> the number of quarters

remember that

1 nickel=$0.05

1 quarter=$0.25

we know that

x=3y -----> equation A

0.05x+0.25y=2

Multiply by 100 both sides

5x+25y=200

Simplify

x+5y=40 -----> equation B

Substitute equation A in equation B

(3y)+5y=40

8y=40

y=5 quarters

x=3(5)=15 nickels

 MAXIMUM POINT WILL BE GIVEN!!! I NEED THIS RN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer:

Part a) The variables are

x (the number of packages of Twinkies that were sold)

y (the number o boxes of juice that were sold)

Part b) The system of equations is

x+y=79 and 1.65x+1.36y=118.17

Part c) x=37,y=42

Part d) The value of y represent the number of boxes of juice that were sold y=42\ boxes\ of\ juice

The value of x represent the number of packages of Twinkies that were sold x=37\ packages\ of\ Twinkies

Step-by-step explanation:

Part a) Define the variables in this situation

Let

x-----> the number of packages of Twinkies that were sold

y----> the number of boxes of juice that were sold

Part b) Write a system of equations that model the problem

we know that

x+y=79 ------> equation A

1.65x+1.36y=118.17 ---> equation B

Part c) Use the linear combination method to find the solution to the system you wrote in part b

Multiply equation A by -1.65

-1.65(x+y)=-1.65*79

-1.65x-1.65y=-130.35 ------> equation C

Adds equation C and equation B

-1.65x-1.65y=-130.35\\1.65x+1.36y=118.17\\---------\\-1.65y+1.36y=-130.35+118.17\\-0.29y=-12.18\\y=42

Find the value of x

x+y=79

x+42=79

x=79-42=37

Part d) Using a complete sentence, explain what the solution found in part c represents

The value of y represent the number of boxes of juice that were sold

so

y=42\ boxes\ of\ juice

The value of x represent the number of packages of Twinkies that were sold

so

x=37\ packages\ of\ Twinkies

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST! NEED HELP THANK YOU!
Goryan [66]

Answer:

C. Region B

Step-by-step explanation:

Since you already have the graphs of the lines, you only need to shade the proper area.

For the first equation, since y is less or equal than x-2 you have to shade the bottom part of the line.

For the second one, since y is more or equal to 1/4x+4 you have to shade the upper part of the line.

The answer is the region where the to shaded parts intersects each other.

Hope this helped you!
