And after seeing, once again, my mother's disappointed face, something inside me began to die.
hjlf
The answer to this question is possibly: B. To show that the narrator is trying to be smarter. Looking back at the sentence, I can use context clues. I can specifically look at where the sentence said, "Something inside me began to die." That is suggesting that the narrator is influenced by her mother's face to allow something to die within her. In other words, she realizes that she needs to change into a new, better person. Hope that helps.

The letter was calm and restrained.

Explanation:

Tension between the United States and Russia, formerly known as the Union of Soviet Socialists States were on the rise. From the rocket race, to the missiles race, the tensions between the two countries kept escalating. In the wake of the events, one of the potentially dangerous events was the Cuban missile crisis. Russia thought to build a missile base in Cuba. This would present a great danger to the US. In the letter, Kennedy is tentative in his approach. He exercises restraint. In fact, in one of the lines he says, "...I recognize Mr. Chairman, that it was not I who issued the first challenge in this case..." The president distances himself from the provocations that had been sent his his predecessors.

What technique does the author use in each excerpt to
support her purpose?
ankoles [38]

Answer:

B). The first excerpt uses facts and statistics, and the second excerpt is told as a story.

Explanation:

The first excerpt from 'Children of the Drug Wars' employs factual and statistical information that helps the author to serve her purpose of educating the readers about the impact of violence(led by wars) on children. It also informs them regarding the increase in percentage of asylum claims as the violence left the children mentally distorted and it is this reason made around 58% to flee. While the second excerpt from 'Enrique's Journey' uses a narrative style to portray the hardships faced by Enrique to reconcile with his mother('jams his body, jumps off, etc.) through which the audience can connect themselves emotionally and elicit intended response. Thus, option B is the correct answer.

How does a texts pattern of organization contribute to central idea development?
nataly862011 [7]
Because the organization depends on how you will be making the essay because if you did order of importance than your central idea would most likely be developed in the beginning, but if it was like order of like same and difference then the central idea would be tough to put in you would have to put the central idea at the end to clarify why you did the order of same and difference.
