In my opinion, the problems with gender hurt society more than racial problems. As a female myself, I have seen and been subject to, first hand, the things women have to put up with. For one, we don't feel safe walking alone around town or in our neighborhoods. Then when we say that and try to explain it, a lot of men say we are being scared for no reason. They say it's foolish to be that scared and to be fearful of grown men. So then we are stuck, we can't get people to listen because they just think we are "paranoid women." Maybe they'll understand once something bad happens to their little sister, but by then it will be too late for them to have listened.
