Which two pieces of evidence from the passage best suggest that the Wright brothers seriously considered safety in their airplan

e design? We decided to place the motor to one side of the man, so that in case of a plunge headfirst, the motor could not fall upon him. The motor close beside you kept up an almost deafening roar during the whole flight, yet in your excitement you did not notice it till it stopped! Otherwise the general construction and operation of the machine was to be similar to that of the 1902 glider. To provide against the machine rolling over forward in landing, we designed skids like sled runners, extending out in front of the main surfaces. If you did not take the precaution to fasten your hat before starting, you have probably lost it by this time.

Answer:

"We decided to place the motor to one side of the man, so that in case of a plunge headfirst, the motor could not fall upon him" "To provide against the machine rolling over forward in landing, we designed skids like sled runners, extending out in front of the main surfaces"

Explanation:

The two passages explain the injury preventative measures taken by the brothers to prevent any sort of accident, further proving a point of safety in their design

Read the verses from the Bible’s Ecclesiastes 3.1-4.
Tomtit [17]

Answer:

The Bible’s Ecclesiastes 3.1-4 and "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock"

The lines from "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" that are an allusion to these Bible verses are:

A. There will be time to murder and create,

And time for all the works and days of hands

Explanation:

The line "time to murder and create" is an indirect inference to Ecclesiastes 3:1-4. The poem titled "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" was written in 1910 by T.S. Eliot. It is modernist literary work which celebrated the diminishing power of traditional sources of authority, especially religion. Most allusions are made based on shared knowledge and understanding between the reader and the author.

Which of the following demonstrates proper parallelism? Question options: Julie judges people both by what they say and by their
ZanzabumX [31]

Answer:

Julie judges people both by their words and by their actions.

Explanation:

Parallelism refers to the use of sentence components that are grammatically identical or similar in structure, sound, meaning, or meter. It is considered to be one of the fundamental principles of grammar and rhetoric, adding symmetry, effectiveness, and balance to the text. Examples of parallelism can be found in literary works and everyday conversations alike. A well-known example of parallelism is the Latin saying translated as I came, I saw, I conquered. Here we have the repetition of the past simple tense.

Two sentences we were given are a good example of the presence and the lack of parallelism. There is no parallelism in Julie judges people both by what they say and by their actions. It would've been better had the sentence said Julie judges people both by what they say and by what they do. There we have identical structures. Julie judges people both by their words and by their actions is a good example of parallelism.
