From what was said in the Play - Hamlet especially Acts one to five, Hamlet overthinks, Gertrude is indecisive, Cladius is deceitful, Polonius talks a lot, Ophelia is Irrational, Laertes is vengeful, Horatio is rational.

The Characters in Hamlet

Hamlet: He is unable to act during periods of tension because he overthinks and this sort of enervates him.

Gertrude: Lacks decisiveness. Prefers to speak for others rather than for herself and seems to be under the control of Claudius.

Claudius: Is portrayed by the author as a deceitful and obsessive megalomaniac.

Polonius: Has issues with a superiority complex and is seldom quiet.

Ophelia: She is irrational most of the time

Laertes: is blinded by rage and thirst for vengeance.

Horatio: Seem to be the most rational of all. Always thinks through all information that he is presented with.
