What was the primary reason for these masks during world war 1
Black_prince [1.1K]

Gas masks used in World War One were made as a result of poison gas attacks that took the Allies in the trenches on the Western Front by surprise. Description that explains why Chicago grew so quickly.
Marina86 [1]

In the early days, Chicago was inhabited by Algonquian people. With the opening of the Illinois and Michigan Canal - that runs down to the Gulf of Mexico - and the first rail line to Chicago, the city started to become the national transportation hub with road, rail, water and, air connections. Also, Chicago sits in the center of the most fertile agricultural areas of the United States. Because of all those factors, Chicago grew quickly - in less than 20 years the population grew from 4 thousand inhabitants to 169 thousand.

Why was realism eventually replaced by impressionism?
frez [133]

Answer:

Explanation:

Impressionism was a reaction to realism. Impressionism conveyed light and a fleeting image. Manet [not Monet] bridged the gap between the two periods. Impressionism began to take shape in the 1860s on the canvases of Édouard Manet, Claude Monet, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
