Answer:

Yes

Explanation:

Politicians back then were very racist and up to today we still have Politicians who are racist but to more then 1 Minority, the documentary talked about a set of laws imposed to single out the Chinese as unwanted immigrants to Canada from 1885 to 1947, to this day we still have laws that have some hold on some Minorities and with the recent being "The battle of voting rights" everyone is well known of what is going on with, and according to a article written by New York times,

"Republicans aggressively fought both the voting measure and the attempt to weaken the filibuster. They accused Democrats of manufacturing a crisis by exaggerating the impact of new state laws in an effort to realize a longstanding goal of gaining more control over state elections — and risking the uniqueness of the Senate to do so."

Another thing that also stood out was this statement made in the same article.
"In a day of sharp exchanges, one of the most dramatic was between two of the Senate’s three Black members, who clashed over charges by Democrats that the Republicans’ opposition to the legislation was a throwback to the Jim Crow days of denying Black Americans the vote."

The whole point of this is to stand with my answer being that "yes" politicians would make the same comments, though it may not be the exact words they can still have the same meaning, over the centuries many Minorities have had their fair share with comments from many Government officials and categorized politicians. Though we cannot leave this unseen, the United States president alone having his fair share with racism just shows that the way our government is now days is no where near better then from back then, and it shows how much power they have, they can say anything they want and pretty much get away with it, IMO I feel the way our system is heading is in a circle, comparing and contrasting from today to the way past politics have been has showed similar traits. Racism in politics is never ending no matter how many new "justices..presidents..etc.." we get it will always be the same rotation and that is why I feel that politicians today would make the same comments, because nothing has changed from the past Historic events.

Hope this helps !

How did giles corey die? why did he refuse the "answer the charge"?
skelet666 [1.2K]
If Giles pleads guilty, he will be granted spiritual reconcilliation; and be hanged.
If he pleads innocent, he will be found guilty and will be hanged while his soul is condemned to an eternity in hell.
Both scenarios would result in the crown stripping him of his land and assets leaving his sons and wife starving and penniless.

By remaining silent, the courts can neither confirm or deny his innocence; and as a result cannot take away his property.
By enduring torture in silence, Giles ensured his families longevity by sacrificing his life.
