A polynomial is factored using algebra tiles. An algebra tile configuration. 0 tiles are in the Factor 1 spot and 0 tiles are in

the Factor 2 spot. 15 tiles are in the Product spot in 3 columns with 5 rows: 1 is labeled x squared, 2 are labeled x, the 4 tiles below x squared are labeled negative x, and the 8 tiles below the x tiles are labeled negative. Which polynomial was factored? x2 – 2x – 8 x2 2x – 8 x2 – 2x – 4 x2 2x – 4.

Polynomials consist of both indeterminates and coefficients. The polynomial that was factored in is x² - 2x - 8.

What are polynomials?

A polynomial consists of both indeterminates and coefficients and involves mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Given to us

1 is labeled x squared,

2 are labeled x,

4 tiles below x squared are labeled negative x,

8 tiles below the x tiles are labeled negative.

As we know that algebra tiles are the tiles that represent variables or coefficients. Also, the shape of the tiles can be rectangle or square.

These tiles can be represented as,

1 is labeled x squared, = x²

2 are labeled x, = 2x

4 tiles below x squared are labeled negative x = -4x

8 tiles below the x tiles are labeled negative = -8

Sum all the terms we will get,

x² + 2x - 4x - 8

x² - 2x - 8

Hence, the polynomial that was factored in is x² - 2x - 8.

A construction company needs to remove 2 5/6 tons of dirt from a construction site. They can remove 3/10 tons of dirt each hour.
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

Here is a generic way to set up this type of algebra problem.

d = total amount of dirt at the site (tons)

r = rate or removal (tons/hr)

t = time it takes to remove all of the dirt (hr)

d = rt

The total amount of dirt equals the removal rate times hours spent removing all the dirt.

Since you want to solve for t, divide both sides by r

t = d/r

k0ka [10]
Hello there!

To start with subtract the membership fee from the total of $21:
$21 - $12 = $9.
Divide what is left by the cost per video rental:
$9/ $1.50 = $6.

In short, she can rent 6 videos.

Hope This Helps You!

The sum of two consecutive multiples of 5 is 55.what are the multiples
wariber [46]

Answer:

25 and 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the smaller consecutive multiples of 5 be x. Therefore, other consecutive multiples will be x + 5.

Now as per statement the sum of two consecutive multiples of 5 is 55. To find the multiples. Thus

x + x + 5 = 55

2x + 5 = 55

2x = 55 - 5

2x = 50

x = 50/2

x = 25

This the smaller consecutive multiples of 5 is 25, the other consecutuve multiple is x+ 5, 25 + 5 = 30.

The consecutive multiple numbers of 5 are 25 and 30

Answer the two consecutive multiples of 5 are 25 and 30
