Examples of political push factors
kipiarov [429]

There are lot of factors that contribute to migration of the people. They are roughly divided into push factors and pull factors.

The push factors are the factors that are making the people leave a place. These factors are numerous, and some of the most important are of political nature.

As political push factors can be seen:

- state persecution; the people are forced to migrate because the government is forcing them to do so.

- war; the people migrate because of safety reasons, as in war there is high chances that they will lose their lives, or be forced to participate in the war without them wanting to.

- lack of political liberties; the world has become more and more democratic, so the people naturally want to have rights. In some countries this is not the case, and the people are restricted in their liberties, so in order to be able to express their opinion they migrate.

- large scale corruption; it forces the people to migrate because the systems are not working properly. Only small fraction of the population is able to thrive in this kind of circumstances, while the majority suffers.

- cultural political; the migrate because of internal problem based on cultural diversity and tensions or conflicts between different groups.
