The domain of any function is the set of x-values.

For a sequence written as a function, the domain is the set of term numbers.  In a sequence, term numbers describe the position of each term in a sequence.  We start a sequence with the first term (1), the second term (2), etc.

When we are counting positions, we do not count half positions or quarter positions; only whole positions are counted.  It would make no sense to say "the first and a half term"; we go from first to second.

This means the domain of the sequence written as a function is restricted to the set of whole numbers.

Answer: The domain of a sequence written as a function is restricted to the set of natural numbers.

Step-by-step explanation:

  • Domain of any function is the set of input values of independent variable to a function on which the output values of dependent variable depends.

If a sequence is written as a function, then the domain is the set of natural numbers because the term starts with first term then second then so on.

The number of terms can not be negative or rational.

Here natural numbers represents the position of each term in a sequence.

This means the domain of the sequence written as a function is restricted to the set of natural numbers.

There are two steps to this problem. The first step is to make an equation for the cost of each company. The cost of each one involves 2 variables. However, we can ignore the number of days since the question asks for per day.

CostA = 90 + .40(miles)

CostB = 30 + .70(miles)

We want to know when A is a better deal or when A costs less. That is when CostA < CostB. We can then substitute the right sides of our equations into the inequality. This will give:

90 + .40(miles) < 30 + .70(miles)     This is where we will now begin to solve for the number of miles.

-30                      -30                       Subtract 30 from both sides.

60 + .4(miles) < .7(miles)                Simplify

      -.4(miles)   -.4(miles)                Subtract .4(miles) from both sides

60 < .3(miles)                                 Simplify

/.3     /.3                                        Divide both sides by .3

200 < miles                                   Simplify

So for A to cost less the number of miles must be greater than 200.

What are the center and radius of the circle described by the equation x2 + y2 + 6x + 10y + 18 = 0?
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

What are the center and radius of the circle described by the equation x2 + y2 + 6x + 10y + 18 = 0?

Center (3.5); Radius 4

Center (-3,-5); Radius 4

O Center (3,5); Radius 16

O Center (3.5); Radius 10

x² + y²+ 6x + 10y + 18 = 0

x² + 6x + y² + 10y = -18

x² + 6x + 9 + y² + 10y + 25 = -18 + 6 + 9

x² + 3x + 3x + 9 + y² + 5y + 5y + 25 = -3

-10 x + 4 = 52 x=___ help
Strike441 [17]

Answer: x=-4.8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

-10x+4=52

Subtract 4 on both sides

-10x+4-4=52-4

-10x=48

Divide -10 on both sides

-10x/-10=48/-10

x=-4.8

Hope this helps!! :)
