Sally needs to find the circumference of a circle with a diameter of 20 inches. She uses a calculator to find the circumference. Which answer is reasonable?
A. 60.133574 in
B. 70.893927 in
C. 62.831185 in
D. 65.531319 in
2 answers:
Circumference = pi*diameter
C = pi*20
C = 20pi
When I used my calculator to compute 20*pi, I get approximately 62.83185
This is somewhat close to what choice C is saying. The difference is that choice C has an extra 1 buried inside it. I'm not sure if your teacher made a typo.
C Circumference of a circle: C = 2πr π = 3.14 r = 20/2= 10 C = 2*3.14*10 6.28*10= 62.8 Hope that helps!
