When looking at it, you can see that the location of the 9 and 12 are the same. So, you can solve by first finding the difference in the two. Turns out 12 is 4/3 times bigger than 9. So, divide each of your sides to figure out what each side is.
X = 17.25
Y = 18
Z = 17.25

Hope this helps :)

Find the vertex form for the following quadratic function. f(x)=x^2+14x+41
Luda [366]

f(x) = (x + 7)² - 8

the equation of a quadratic in vertex form is

y = a(x - h)² + k

where (h, k ) are the coordinates of the vertex and a is a multiplier

given the quadratic in standard form : y = ax² + bx + c ( a ≠ 0 )

then the x-coordinate of the vertex is

x_{vertex} = - \frac{b}{2a}

f(x) = x² + 14x + 41 is in standard form

with a = 1, b = 14 and c = 41

x_{vertex} = - \frac{14}{2} = - 7

substitute this value into the equation for y- coordinate

y = (- 7 )² + 14(- 7 ) + 41 = 49 - 98 + 41 = - 8

f(x) = (x + 7)² - 8 ← in vertex form

If AB = 3, AD= 5, andDE= 6, what is the length of BC?
egoroff_w [7]

Answer:

D. 3.6

Step-by-step explanation:

=> Taking proportionality of the similar sides to find BC

\frac{AB}{AD}=\frac{BC}{DE}

\frac{3}{5} = \frac{BC}{6}

Multiplying 6 to both sides

BC = 0.6 * 6

BC = 3.6
