9. The Great Wall- a system of fortified walls with a roadway along the top, constructed as a defense for China against the nomads

10. Han- a Chinese dynasty dated 206b.c.–a.d.220 and marked by centralized control through an appointive bureaucracy

11. India Caste System- the system of dividing people in a society into different social classes

12.  Karma- the sum of a person's actions in this and previous states of existence, viewed as deciding their fate in future existences.

13. Hinduism- a major religious and cultural tradition of South Asia, which developed from Vedic religion.

14. Buddhism- a widespread Asian religion or philosophy, founded by Siddartha Gautama in northeastern India in the 5th century BC.

15. Maurya- one of an ancient Indian people that established an empire taking in most of northern India

16.  Gupta- from Sanskrit Gupta 'secret', 'protected'.

17. Monotheistic- relating to or characterized by the belief that there is only one God.

18. Prophet- a person regarded as an inspired teacher or proclaimer of the will of God.

19. Golden Age of Learning- a period of time during which a very high level of achievement is reached in a particular field of activity
