Answer:

the GCF of 36 and 60 is 2 × 2 × 3 = 12.

Step-by-step explanation:

Prime factorization of 36 and 60 is (2 × 2 × 3 × 3) and (2 × 2 × 3 × 5) respectively. As visible, 36 and 60 have common prime factors. Hence, the GCF of 36 and 60 is 2 × 2 × 3 = 12.

Law Incorporation [45]

Answer:

(f+g)(x) = 60x + 400

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Amount in account A:

f(x) = 20x + 100

Amount in account B :

g(x) = 40x + 300

Total amount in Account A and B:

f(x) + g(x) = (20x + 100) + (40x + 300)

(f+g)(x) = (20x + 40x) + (100 + 300)

(f+g)(x) = 60x + 400

You throw two four-sided dice. Let the random variable X represent the maximum value of the two dice. Compute E(X). Round your a
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

E(X)=3.125

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that two four sided dice.

Then , the sample space

{(1,1),(1,2),(1,3),(1,4),(2,1),(2,2),(2,3),(2,4),(3,1),(3,2),(3,3),(3,4),(4,1),(4,2),(4,3),(4,4)}

Total number of outcomes=16

Let the random variable X represent the maximum value of the two dice

Outcomes                            X                                 P(X)

(1,1)                                          1                                 1/16

(1,2),(2,1),(2,2)                                   2                        3/16

(1,3),(2,3),(3,1),(3,2),(3,3)                    3                           5/16

(1,4),(3,4) ,(2,4),(4,1),(4,2),(4,3),(4,4)    4                            7/16

Using the probability formula

P(E)=\frac{Favorable\;outcomes}{Total\;number\;of\;outcomes}

Now,

E(X)=\sum_{i=1}^{n}x_iP(x_i)

E(x)=1(1/16)+2(3/16)+3(5/16)+4(7/16)

E(x)=\frac{1+6+15+28}{16}

E(x)=\frac{50}{16}=3.125

The time taken for 21000 spectators to vacate the stadium , if only 15 exits are functional is 28 minutes .

In the question ,

it is given that

the time taken to vacate the stadium = 20 minutes

number of exits = 25 exits

capacity of the stadium = 25000 spectators .

given that ,

time taken to exit the stadium varies directly with number of spectators and inversely with the number of exits .

time taken ∝ number of spectators ∝ 1/number of exits .

to remove the proportionality sign , we write the constant

time taken = k * (number of spectators)/(number of exits) .

20 = k * 25000/25

20 = k * 1000

k = 20/1000

k = 2/100

k = 1/50 = 0.02

So, to find the time taken for 21,000 spectators to vacate the stadium, if only 15 exits are functional , we use the formula

time taken = (0.02)*(21000/15)

= 0.02*1400

= 28

Therefore , The time taken for 21000 spectators to vacate the stadium , if only 15 exits are functional is 28  minutes .
