PLEASE PLACE PLASTIC AND GLASS CONTAINERS IN SEPERATE BINS please find one error!

English

There are at least two errors in the sentence.

1. The word separate is spelled wrongly. It should read <em>separate</em> and not seperate.

2. There is no period at the end of the sentence.

The sentence should not be written in capital letters only either.

Define what you mean by "error". If you meant an error in the grammar of the sentence, I could tell you that there is no period at the end of the statement.
Hope this helps!  <span />

Which of the following sentences possess a tone that would be most appealing to a professor? Select one: a. You misread the enti
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

The sentence which possesses a tone that would be most appealing to a professor is:

d. Please allow me the opportunity to argue for a better grade.

Explanation:

A situation such as this, in which you need to address someone who is hierarchically superior to you and who has the power to change something that affects you, demands a certain type of tone and style. Since this refers to you addressing a professor, we can assume the use of formal language will be seen in more of a positive light. But that is not all. Politeness and diplomacy are also crucial. Take a look at option B, for instance. Even though the language is fine, it lacks diplomacy. It accuses the professor of having been sloppy, which will most likely offend him.

<u>The best option is letter D. It uses formal language, and the sentence itself is polite, without any unnecessary assumptions or accusations.</u>

which law described in “kids at work” prevents sophie in “rocks in my pocket” from getting a work permit?
sveta [45]

Answer:

C. the 1916 federal child labor law

Explanation:

The "1916 Federal Child Labor Law" was also known as the <em>"Keating-Owen Child Labor Act of 1916." </em>This means that children<u> under age 14</u> will not be employed. Those who were aged 14 to 18, on the other hand, will only have to work for eight hours and not longer. Such law can be seen in the story entitled "Rocks in my Pocket." Although Sophie wanted to work at the coat factory, she couldn't get a work permit because she was too young and it wasn't allowed.

So, this explains the answer.
