<u>Triangle</u>

If you turn the figure 90° clockwise, you will see that the base of the triangle = 8m and the height of the triangle = 6m.

Area of a triangle = 1/2 x base x height

⇒ area of the triangle = 1/2 x 8 x 6 = 24 m²

<u>Rectangle</u>

From inspection, the length of the rectangle = 10m and the width = 8m

Area of a rectangle = length x width

⇒ area of the rectangle = 10 x 8 = 80 m²

<u>Composite figure area</u>

Therefore the total area of the figure = area of triangle + area of rectangle

⇒ total area = 24 + 80 = 104 m²
