Some great examples of novels whose themes reflect a society's values and morals of a specific time in history are the fable <em>Animal Farm</em> by George Orwell which is an allegory of the events leading up to the Russian Revolution of 1917 and then Stalinist era; and the themes of <em>To Kill a Mockingbird</em> by Harper Lee which reflect the values of prejudice and racism of a society living in an American Southern town during the 1930s.
