Explain how laertes statement is enriched by his drawing on two separate meanings of the word subject
MaRussiya [10]
In Act I, Scene 3, Laertes' words to Ophelia draw upon two meanings of the word subject.

The first is a noun, meaning "a citizen of a state." The second is an adjective, meaning "dependent upon."

When Laertes describes Hamlet as being "subject to his birth," he is saying that Hamlet is literally a subject of the king and also dependent upon family obligations. He is not simply free to love Ophelia.

Which strategy is recommended to make revising easier?
pishuonlain [190]
The most helpful to the revising process of these would be the last one, proofreading before revising. This allows you to get all of the little errors out of the way before adjusting the big ideas or problems you may see in your writing. This allows you to focus on the main revision instead of the small details like misspellings, grammatical errors, and missed punctuation in your writing. While almost all of these would be helpful, the last option makes revision much less time consuming due more efficient.
