There re different kinds of rocks. Compared to continental rocks, some of which are more than 4 billion years old, the rocks of the ocean floor are extremely young.

What rocks are found on the ocean floor?

The rocks of the ocean floor are known to be mid-oceanic ridge basalts, that is formed from low-potassium tholeiitic magmas.

Basalt is known to be the most common rock of volcanic rock that is found on the sea floor. The Rocks from the sea floor is said to be not the same from those seen on land as a result of their shape and chemical composition

What evidence would you expect to find on the moon if it had beensubjected to plate tectonics? do you find such evidenc?
forsale [732]
Hey there!

When we have plate tectonics on our planet, we are subject to some unique phenomena, like:

A Mid-Ocean Ridge
Seafloor spreading
Earthquakes
Volcanos
Mountain Ranges

If the Moon were to have plates, we’d probably see geographic landforms like these, and it’s safe to say the Moon probably only has craters and elevations is because it’s uneven and probably was created from breaking off the Earth or another object. It would also have to have earthquakes and ground movement, and it doesn’t have this- at least that’s as much as we know.

Hope this helps!

Why do you think the early western railroads ran east and west rather than north and south?
denis-greek [22]

Answer:

The early western railroads ran east to west rather than north to south and the reason mainly was due to faster traveling east and west to move goods from coast to coast.

Explanation:

Main reasons behind the early western railroads running east and west rather than north and south were as follows:

 • Transcontinental roads were faster to travel and move goods from east and west from coast to coast.
 • There was rise of the industries in the west that led to expansion of the railroads in order to link industries of the west to the markets of the east.

Do you think we are all sociolgists to a certain degree why/why not
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

It’s interesting how many people think that sociology is just commonsense.

It’s a perfectly fair assumption. After all, we cannot understand the

workings of things like atoms, molecules or cells simply from our everyday

experiences. They are not directly accessible to us. We can only know

about them from expert knowledge. Therefore, it is easy to justify the need

for specialist subjects like physics, chemistry and biology.

But we can’t say the same about the social world. Much of it is directly

accessible to us and we begin learning about it from the moment we are

born. In a way, we are all sociologists of a kind because, by the time we

are grown up, most of us have developed a number of social skills and an

extensive knowledge of the social world around us. We don’t just learn

about social life from our own experiences, we are also bombarded with

information about our own and other societies from newspapers, radio

and television and the internet. People also have theories and opinions

about their society, what’s wrong with it, what’s causing these problems

and what could, and should, be done to make things better. Sociologists call this

‘lay’, or commonsense, knowledge of society.
