so, on day 2 he walks 8+2 = 10 laps.

on day 3 he walks then 10-1 = 9 laps.

so, now, to calculate the % decrease compared to day 2

100% = 10

1% = 100%/100 = 0.1

how many % is represented by this 1 lap he was walking less ?

1 / 1% = 1 / 0.1 = 10%

so he had a 10% decrease from day 2 to day 3.
