This is actually an example of “personfication.” This is not a simile because it is not comparing unlikely things to eachother, DAKOTAH4573 is wrong. I know this because they are personifying the fate by saying it has blundered over her, but only humans can blunder over something for example, personification can be like: “The sun kissed my face, the warm feeling was comfortable.” Can a sun really kiss you? No way, only a human can do that, so you are “personifying” the sun :).
