To Gary Nash, individualism, became a great help to the slavery of African Americans, since as a historian, this was his focus. While it has always been America's stance that God created all men equal, this did not directly apply to the slaves as an argument by Nash.

While many believe Lincoln gave up too much and even used shady tactics, at the end Abraham Lincoln was able to pass the Thirteenth Amendment of the Constitution of the United States Constitution which abolished slavery forever.
While the passing of the amendment did not stop the wide-spread racism against Black people, it did help to generally free most of them from bondage and gave them a new life.

They played a role against the violation of human rights because of the inequality the world had against race,color,ethnicity and even weight/height. When people protested about this topic, people were less hateful to diversity and would allow any other skin color, weight or races into this world.
