The Theme of the story Taking the Plunge is Determination. The theme emerges because a young man's idea wedding is threatened. In his quest to ensure that everything goes well, he takes uncommon decisions.

When a writer chooses to write a story, it is important for them to consider what the theme(s) might be. Examples of themes are:
