Infant's flesh will be in season throughout the year, but more plentiful in March, and a little before and after; for we are tol

d by a grave author, an eminent French physician, that fish being a prolifick dyet, there are more children born in Roman Catholick countries about nine months after Lent, the markets will be more glutted than usual, because the number of Popish infants, is at least three to one in this kingdom, and therefore it will have one other collateral advantage, by lessening the number of Papists among us. I have already computed the charge of nursing a beggar's child (in which list I reckon all cottagers, labourers, and four-fifths of the farmers) to be about two shillings per annum, rags included; and I believe no gentleman would repine to give ten shillings for the carcass of a good fat child, which, as I have said, will make four dishes of excellent nutritive meat, when he hath only some particular friend, or his own family to dine with him. Thus the squire will learn to be a good landlord, and grow popular among his tenants, the mother will have eight shillings neat profit, and be fit for work till she produces another child. Those who are more thrifty (as I must confess the times require) may flea the carcass; the skin of which, artificially dressed, will make admirable gloves for ladies, and summer boots for fine gentlemen.

How does digital media try to hook you and what can you do about it
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

here is explanation below

Explanation:

Digital media use some techniques and mechanism such as compulsive checking to keep people hooked. The technique seem persuasive as it continuously gets to make people to keep returning on regular basis.

With social proof, (where an online information can be retweeted severally to make users quickly go online and read them), people could be kept so addicted to the digital media. It also uses reciprocity, where more friends can be invited to a platform for one to earn more points. So the more your friends, the harder it becomes to leave such platforms.

Self-exclusion and lock-out scheme can be used to put a control to the addiction. Users could be alerted when it seems their usage pattern indicates certain level of risks.

What kind of sentences are these,DEC for declarative, INT for interrogative, IMP for imperative, or EXC for exclamatory.
andreyandreev [35.5K]

Answer: 1,2 - DEC. 3,5 - IMP, 4 - INT.

Explanation:

Declarative sentence means to declare something. It is just a simple sentence stating something. The below statements are an examples of declarative sentence.

• If you listen carefully, you can hear many night sounds other than insects.

• I am not sure I can finish War and Peace in only three weeks.

Imperative sentences are those which gives an order, makes a suggestion, or requests for something. The following sentence, ‘Look out for those dogs’ is an example of imperative sentence. The sentence ‘Mahmoud, please list every message that comes in’ is also an imperative sentence because here ‘please’ indicates request.

Interrogative sentences are the ones which asks for an information or question. In the sentence ‘Why aren’t you applying for more scholarships?’ a question is being asked.
