Answer:

Seatbelts save lives.  He provides statistical information about the rate of death from not wearing a seatbelt in a pickup truck.  The agricultural world determined that it would interfere with their daily activities on the farm.  I remember riding in the back of the pickup truck with my bare feet hanging off the bed as we go down the road.  If I had shoes, I remember dragging my feet on the road.  If we knew we were in for a bumpy ride, we would sit closer to the cab of the truck.  If you are just sitting on the back, then you could just jump off and pick up that bale of hay or take care of farm animals.  

Explanation:

He responded with information to conclude that to save lives, even on the farm or in the agricultural world, you need to wear a seatbelt.
