the clan excerpt from eight cousins by Louisa m. Alcott Summarizes what happens after Charlie walks away from Rose. Use key even
soldier1979 [14.2K]

Chapter II - the Clan, from the book Eight Cousins by Louisa May Alcott.

Rose had visited the Clan.

Seeming unprepared or introverted, she found the presence of her 7 male cousins greeting her entrance all at once somewhat disconcerting. In the 7th paragraph, she is introduced to Prince Charlie's son - Worm.

Whilst she was still getting acquainted with her cousins Prince Charlie walks in shakes her up a little with what she considered to be a "slight" wherein he referred to her as a "little thing". Prince Charlie laughs and makes amends as she objects and walks away.

After Prince Charlie walks away.

Soon after he left, Georgie and Will came at Rose, asking if she brought her monkey. They left upon her dissapointing reply. They both left after another question. Then Jamie who was earlier introduced as the Baby demanded to know if Rose brought anything nice. Her response: "Yes, lots of candy".

Read the excerpt from "On Imagination" by Phillis
Degger [83]

The line "And all attest how potent is thine hand," shows a different justification than the others, as shown in option D.

We can arrive at this answer because:

 • The speaker justifies the queen's works very subjectively throughout the poem.
 • This speaker reinforces how great and wonderful the queen is, like all the things she gets involved with.
 • However, in the line "And all attest how potent is thine hand," the speaker shows that the queen's actions are good because her hand is powerful.

With this, the speaker shows a different justification, stating that the queen works for her greatness, using her hands to act and promote improvements.
