The passage reveals the progression and processes that took place in the invention of swimming devices that enable swimmers /divers to perform activities underwater. Da Vinci designed a complete diving suit. But in 1680, an Italian Professor actually invented a large air bag which was to be won by swimmers. This gave later inventors an idea moving air around in diving devices. Then in 1819, Siebe, a German invented the hard-hat suit. Further inventions were made and improved upon.
