A joint committee is staffed by the<u> House of representatives and the Senate </u>members. The republican party the democratic party both parties special and <u>select </u>committees are temporary and have limited jurisdiction.
There are four categories of Congressional comittees, which are:
-Standing Committees: Are some House or Senate commitees which its jurisdiction correspond with major economic sectors or national policy concern.
-Joint Committees: Are permanten bodies that report out legislation of the full House or Senate.
-Special Committees
-Select Committees
Special and Select committees are temporary created for a certain purpose and are dissolved once that purpose is completed. They main difference between them is that Special committes last two years, and select committees tend to spam several congresses periods.
