He discussed to the Court about how there are written laws in Maycomb that the Ewells break regularly, but there are also unwritten laws that exist in their community. Maycomb has a certain social code that its citizens are expected to live by. One of these is that there should not be any affection between a white woman and a black man. He makes this distinction, because although there may not have been a written rule against it, this was the broken "law" that mattered more than any other social code broken by the Ewells previously.
I believe if I remember correctly, he/she is watching soldiers cross a waterway or bridge.
The Lost World<span> is a novel released in 1912 by </span>Sir Arthur Conan Doyle<span> concerning an expedition to a plateau in the Amazon basin of South America where prehistoric animals (</span>dinosaurs<span> and other extinct creatures) still survive. In Nadine Gordimer's "Once Upon a Time" statement that indicates the consequence of motivation of physical safety is due to increased agitation among their neighbors. In the non- white areas there were burglaries and riots which escalated the husband to take measure for their safety through the installation of electric gates. As the burglars got closer the family raised their security by setting up alarms. Further, it provided them of no help and to which they decided to limit their conversation with the maids. Again, what frightened the family is the escalation, wherein the newly fired employees' loafed around.
