Answer: Makenzie Fuller and Claire Fitzroy were two very different people on the very same plane. They were both going to New Shoreham in Rhode Island U.S. but there reasons were insanely different. Makenzie was going to New Shoreham because her parents had just passed away in a gruesome car crash and was now being sent to an orphanage. Her aunt payed for the flight but sent her away because her aunt had never takin a liking to Makenzie. The feeling was mutual. Claire was going because she wanted to see a peaceful and quiet town aside from the garden parties her mother puts on every Saturday. Claire and her family were high rollers in the small, quaint town of Attaway. Her father Richard Fitzroy owned most of the town but their prized building was the private country club he threw his events at. Makenzie and Claire being from two different worlds considered them to be universes apart. The plane takes an unexpected dive down and power goes out. Engine failure. CRASH! Groans and screams from every direction. Ringing in their ears. Claire and Makenzie survived the crash but no one else. When they find each other they try to work together as a team but realize how different they really are. Makenzie cant cook and Claire cant build a fire. This was going to be a long night. The two got to talking and realized that they both feel abandoned and both feel as if they need to act out to be noticed. They finally find how to work together and how to use their strengths and not their weaknesses. They might actually make it out of this remote forest alive.

In the second paragraph, the author makes which of the following claims regarding the Class of 1990?
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

C. They are unlikely to follow conventional paths in life.

Explanation:

Answer C

Correct. The author tells the Class of 1990 that they “need not, probably cannot, live a ‘paint-by-numbers’ [formulaic or conventional] life” because they “have a first class education from a first class school.” She uses this as an opportunity to offer her audience advice on how to approach the unconventional lives they should look forward to by asking them to “consider making three very special choices”: to “believe in something larger than yourself,” to find “the joy in life,” and to “cherish your human connections.”

Hope this will help

What most likely was the author’s purpose i using parallesim in the excerpt?
Gwar [14]

Answer:

By using parallelism in line 3, the author places importance on the concept of equality.

Explanation:

In this excerpt, parallelism is being used in line 3. This is because both phrases in line 3 have the same grammatical structure, and they both start with the word "equal" ("equal access, equal justice"). The most likely reason why the author decided to write this line in this way is because he wanted the reader to pay attention to the concept of equality.
