Given:

  • The right rectangular prism is made up of 48 cubes.
  • Each cube has an edge length of 1/4 inch.

~

To Find:

  • What is the volume of this prism?

~

Solution:

~

<u>Using formula: </u>

~

  • \sf \pmb {Volume  \: of \:  cube =  {(side)}^{3} }

~

Substituting values in the formula:

~

\sf \longrightarrow  \dfrac{1}{4}  \times  \dfrac{1}{4}  \times  \dfrac{1}{4}

\sf \longrightarrow \dfrac{1}{64}  \:  {inch}^{3}

~

Now,

Volume of 48 such cubes = Volume of 1 cube × 48 cubes

~

\sf \longrightarrow \dfrac{1}{64}  \times 48

\sf \longrightarrow \dfrac{48}{64}

\sf \longrightarrow \dfrac{3}{4}  \:  {inch}^{3}

~

Hence,

  • Volume of prism is <u>3/4 inch^3</u>

The solution of the equation is  x=\frac{11}{7}

Step-by-step explanation:

To simplify an equation of x

  • Simplify each side of the equation
  • Collect x in side and the numerical terms in the other side
  • Find the value of x

∵ The equation is 2x + \frac{1-x}{4}=3

- Multiply all terms of the equation by 4 to cancel the denominator

 of the 2nd term in the left hand side

∵ The equation is 4(2x) +4 (\frac{1-x}{4})=4(3)

∴ 8x + (1 - x) = 12

∴ 8x + 1 - x = 12

- Add like terms

∴ (8x - x) + 1 = 12

∴ 7x + 1 = 12

- Subtract 1 from both sides

∴ 7x = 11

- Divide both sides by 7

∴ x=\frac{11}{7}

The solution of the equation is  x=\frac{11}{7}

A bag contains 8 black beads and 4 white beads. If 2 beads are drawn at random, what is the probability that both beads are blac
maria [59]

Answer:

14/33

Step-by-step explanation:

The total amount of beads is 8+4 = 12.  8 of these are black beads, so that is what we want, so 8/12 or 2/3.  For the second one, one black bead is already taken so 8-1 = 7 are left and for the total 12 - 1 = 11 are left, so 7/11.  Multiply this by 2/3 and we get 14/33.
