Firlakuza [10]

Answer:

The correct answer is C: Creating allies in newly formed nations

Explanation:

As the nationalist forces gradually broke up the Ottoman Empire, new independent nations were created. Newly formed nations close the capital, such as Bulgaria, Greece, Albania, Armenia etc were predominantly Christian and had already received a lot of support from Western European powers.

How did Herbert Hoover view the US economy as he campaigned for president in 1928?
Goshia [24]

The correct option is the first one, while he campaigned for president in 1928; Herbert Hoover saw the unparalleled prosperity across the country.

On taking office, Hoover said that "given the chance to go forward with the policies of the last eight years, we shall soon with the help of God, be in sight of the day when poverty will be banished from this nation." Many shared Hoover's optimism, and the already bullish stock market climbed even higher on Hoover's accession.

However, within months of taking office, the Stock Market Crashed of 1929 in an event known as “Black Tuesday”, and the worldwide economy began to spiral downward into the Great Depression, which was a severe worldwide economic collapse that took place during the 1930s, beginning in the United States.

"For the natives, they are near all dead of smallpox, so as the Lord hathe [has] cleared our title to what we possess." —John Wi
Sloan [31]

This passage expresses some of the negative attitudes that English settlers had towards American Indians.

First, the quotes serve to highlight the fact that colonists did not feel particularly bad for the deaths of the natives, as they show no empathy towards them. They were most likely indifferent to the loss of culture and the disruption of family life that this caused as well.

Moreover, it shows that they knew the reasons why the Indians were dying (smallpox), but had no interest in taking any measures to prevent it.

Third, they show a sense of entitlement over the lands of the indigenous people. As most of them have died, and the population cannot defend itself, they have no problem in taking their land forcefully.

Finally, by comparing themselves to the Spanish, they also show awareness of the destruction and chaos that colonial powers have created in other places, and are thankful that they did not have to engage in a difficult war with the Native Americans.
