Lewis Hine was a photographer and a sociologist and Charles Sheeler was also a photographer and a painter. Their artworks have light and dark values to show form.

Lewis Hine used to take documentary images and photographs of child labour and was the first documentary photographer.  He was known for his portrays of the working circumstances of child labours in industries and factories.

Charles Sheeler was known for modern and precision photography and is known for starting Precisionism. His work helped in improving the working state of the children. He also worked on the chimney and the turbine of the factory areas.

Therefore, Charles discovered Precisionism and depicted industrialization.

It was so quiet out, though hardly lonesome. There weren’t many people out on the street because most everyone was staying in with loved ones and relaxing. Now and then you just saw a boy and a girl crossing a street, with the arms around each other’s waist and all, or a bunch of energetic looking guys and their dates, all of them laughing like birds in the morning at something clever that had been said. New York’s amazing when someone laughs on the street very late at night. You can hear it for miles. It makes you feel like you’re not alone at all.
