Julius Caesar, he was murdered by a group of noble in the Roman Senate House on March 15th, 44 BC. The assassination was led by Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus. They stabbed him 23 times and claimed they acted over fears that Caesar’s unprecedented concentration of power during his dictatorship was undermining the Roman Republic.
