On her walk toward the boutique, Sara frantically kept counting the money in her wallet. This should be enough to purchase a gow

n for prom night, she thought anxiously. Tucking her money safely in her bag, Sara walked towards a renowned boutique. She nervously entered the boutique and navigated her way through the crowd of enthusiastic high school students. After an hour of browsing, Sara finally spotted a pink colored prom gown with pearl embellishments on it. Sara instantly fell in love with the gown and decided to buy it for the prom. She asked the sales girl at the boutique for the price of the gown, and much to Sara's dismay, she realized that she wouldn't be able to buy it. Disappointed and miserable, Sara walked back home. She thought to herself, I wish I had managed to save up more! Sara kept sulking throughout the day. When Sara's mother learned the reason behind Sara's foul mood, she came up with the brilliant idea of recycling Sara's old blue gown. The next day she bought various beads, pearls, and sequins to embellish her old gown. Although Sara was unsure, she helped her mom recycle her old gown. During the process, Sara realized that she would be wearing the most beautiful outfit to her prom, as it was made with her mother's love and hard work.

What is the purpose of diagrams in informational text
Nataliya [291]

The purpose of a diagram in an informational text is to summarize information in a visual way.

An informational text is part of the non fiction category, it aims to share knowledge about the natural or social world. For that instance diagrams come in handy when trying to understand a process description, like photosynthesis.

A diagram can help us understand and remember ideas because it's a graphic aid that sumarizes information using visual resources.
