As a result of the German Empire underestimating the French and the Russians, World War I broke out.

<h3>Why did WWI break out?</h3>

Germany gave permission to Austria-Hungary to attack Serbia because they believed the Russians would not support Serbia if Germany supported Austria-Hungary.

When Russia prepared for war and the Germans saw they have been wrong, they still doubted that the French would support the Russians whom they were allied with so they declared war on Russia.

The French then declared war on Germany which then led to WWI.
