Answer:

6 x <em>a number</em> - 9 = <em>factored</em>

In this case, since the number is not declared as a specific number, this is the key to us factoring.

Like the number could be 6. ↓

Factoring:

6*6-9=27\\6*3-9=9\\6*9-9=45

<em>bonus even factor:</em>

6*2-9=3

These are factors and Least common multiples of 6 and 9.

Because 9 and 3 show up during half of the problem, and these are related to 6 and 9, the <em>parents</em>, we could measure this on a mathematical scale that this proves the factors correct.

There are other ways to factor this. See comments.

The measure of the supplement of an angle is 20° More than three times the measure of the original angle. Find the measures of t
laiz [17]

<u>Answer:</u>

The measure of the supplement of an angle is 20° More than three times the measure of the original angle. The angles are 40 degrees and 140 degrees.

<u>Solution:</u>

Given, The measure of the supplement of an angle is 20° More than three times the measure of the original angle.

We have to Find the measures of the angles.

Let the original angle be n degrees.

We know that, sum of supplementary angles is 180, then, supplementary angle of n will be 180 – n.

Now according to the given information, 180 – n = 20 + 3 x n

180 – n = 20 + 3n

3n + n = 180 – 20

4n = 160

n = 40

Then, supplementary angle is 180 – 40 = 140 degrees.

Hence, the measures of two supplementary angles are 40 degrees and 140 degrees.

The solutions to the given quadratic equation can be determined using quadratic formula.

x= \frac{-b+- \sqrt{ b^{2} -4ac} }{2a}

b =coefficient of x term = -1
a = coefficient of squared term = 4
c = constant term = 9

Using the values in the above formula we get:

x= \frac{1+- \sqrt{1-4(4)(9)} }{2(4)}  \\  \\ &#10;x= \frac{1+- \sqrt{-143} }{8}  \\  \\ &#10;x= \frac{1+-i \sqrt{143} }{8}

So, option D gives the correct answers
