In between 1940-1960, the Containment Theory was brought forward by Walter Reckless. This theory was a control theory which described that certain social factors as well as internal qualities present in a person persuade a person to abstain from doings specially the involvement in criminal acts. These external social factors and internal factors stop a person from committing anything unethical even when majority of the population might be engaging in the unethical act.
