How did the events of the Tennis Court Oath increase the prestige of the Third Estate? By showing that the people could overpowe
fredd [130]

The correct answer is: " By showing that the people could overpower the monarch".

The events of the Tennis Court Oath meant the start of the French Revolution in 1789. The members of the Third Estate, had left the Estates General, the assembly organized by the king which gathered the three Estates of the Realm (the three social classes in which the reign was divided) . They considered they had no voice there, as their Estate represented the majority of the population and its decisions could always be overturned by the ones of the other two privileged estates, as each estate had one vote.

The Third Estate founded the National Assembly instead and they took the Tennis Court Oath through which they agreed "not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require" until a constitution had been drafed. These events preceeded the derrocation and execution of King Louis XVI, the abolition of feudalism and absolute monarchies in France, and subsequently in the whole Europe, and the enactment of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen, the first declaration of civil rights in the world.

What were the major domestic political developments that took place during thomas jefferson's administration?
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Thomas Jefferson was one of the earliest and biggest advocates for egalitarism, he promoted political equality while most of his contemporaries were still pushing the idea that the rich and powerful should lead the Nation.

Some of his most remarkable domestic policies include:

-The extension of suffrage by eliminating property recquirements in order to vote.

-Individuals outside of the elite social class were now encouraged to actively participate in politics and pursue the chance to work in government positions.

-Cutting of useless offices and establishments previously created by the Federalist programs, as well as reducing of the army's budget and overall public expense.

-Lowering of the national debt from $83 million to $57 million.

-Approval of the 12th amendment, which change the procedure of elections for Presidency and Vice-presidency.

-Admission of the new State of Ohio to the Union.

-Construction of the National Road, connecting the east coast to St. Louis

-Rise in funding for public education.

As you can see, Jefferson's policies had many benefits for the development of the Nation, both economically and ideologically.

Hope this helps out!
