Ksju [112]

Answer:

The correct answer is - natural selection.

Explanation:

Natural selection is a process of adapting according to the environmental change in order to survive and reproduce and increase their number. It is represented by Darwin for the first time. Natural selection leads to evolution.

In this case, White moths adapt according to the environment by increasing the population of black moths in order to blend with the surrounding and as the result, black moths are more likely to produce and survive and passed this trait to the next generation.

Where are hydrophobic interactions most likely to occur?
lutik1710 [3]
Hydrophobic effect is the tendency of non polar molecules (hydrophobic) in a solvent that is polar to interact with each other resulting to a hydrophobic interaction. These non polar molecules are called hydrophobes and are made of long chains of carbon that are water hating (do not interact with water). In this case, the hydrophobic interactions are most likely to occur on the core of a water soluble protein.

How does active transport help the Atlantic cod maintain homeostasis with regard to the balance of sodium and chlorine ions
kotegsom [21]

Atlantic Cod is a marine fish. The fish has less salt in its internal body while the salt concentration in the sea water in which the Cod lives is high. Thus through the process of osmosis ( a process in which an element moves across a permeable membrane from regions of high concentration to the regions of low concentration) the salt moves from the ocean into the fish body. In such scenario the metabolism of the fish body gets disturbed, and there is an urgent need to remove the excess salt with the help of Kidney (through extremely concentrated urine) by going against the concentration gradient in order to maintain the homeostasis.
