Tay-Sachs disease follows an autosomal recessive pattern of inheritance, so the unaffected carrier will be the child a.

The correct option is d, a.

What is Tay-Sachs disease?

Tay-Sachs is a neurodegenerative disorder, which causes the deficiency of an enzyme called hexosaminidase A.

The enzyme hexosaminidase A present in the lysosome helps in the digestion of fats.

This disorder causes the excess accumulation of lipid or fat in the ganglion cells.

This causes dysfunction of the central nervous system.

The correct option is d, e.

If a cat normally has 38 chromosomes in its somatic (body) cells, how many chromosomes will be in its gametes? a. 76 b. none of
Keith_Richards [23]

Each gamete has half the number of chromosomes of the somatic cell. Hence, cats' gametes will have 19 chromosomes. Option C.

What are the type of cells in the organism?

The types of cells in the organism are somatic and germ cells.

Both the somatic and germ cells go through mitosis producing two daughter cells with the same genetic dotation.

Somatic cells are any cell in the body except sperm and egg cells. They are diploid, meaning they contain two chromosome sets, each one inherited from each parent.

Germ cells are diploid reproductive cells. They suffer mitosis to form more sexual cells, and a few suffer meiosis to produce haploid gametes. Each germ cell produces 4 haploid gametes.

Each gamete has half the number of chromosomes of the somatic cell. Hence, cats' gametes will have 19 chromosomes. Option C.

Which accurately describes gymnosperms? Check all that apply. Some of them lose their leaves in winter. Some of them lack seeds.S
AleksandrR [38]
I think that correct answers are:
Some of them lose their leaves in winter. (i.e. Larix)
They include the tallest plants (i.e.Sequoia)

I don't think they are the oldest type of seed plants, since in the past the classes like progymnosperms and seed ferns existed prior to the gymnosperms. But question isn't absolutely clear to me and I can't be 100% sure.
All of the gymnosperms have seeds unless human grows some seedless variant.
Gymnosperms don't have flowers like angiosperms do, but some people think that cone is kind of flower.
Male cones produce pollen, not female.
Hope I helped :)
