It was in the summer of 1919 that hundreds of people died because of the racial riots that were happening in Chicago. After the demobilization in world war 1, white people started fearing African-Americans who had started becoming more and more socialist, so they started to attack them after the riots because they believed that they might suffer the fate of the Russian empire after the communists took the government.
