English

The Hydrophobic Skunk resides at the extreme bottom of the Grand Canyon and, next to a Southern Republican who never asked for a Federal office, is the rarest of living creatures. He is so rare that nobody ever saw him--that is, nobody except a native.

When creating a summary, you will want to begin the summary with the name of the piece, who wrote the piece, then follow it up with the thesis of the piece to be summarized.  When providing a summary, it is important to be as objective as possible.  What this means is that you will want to exclude any and all opinion from the summary as well as any analysis.  You should only include a bland retelling of the facts and nothing but the facts, which, again, should be free of your opinion.

This is true. It is proper to wait for intermission to enter because entering beforehand could cause disruption and distraction from the concert which is considered very rude.

Discuss how to use context clues as a strategy to understand unfamiliar vocabulary words.
iragen [17]
Context clues are details that help a reader understand later parts of a passage or sentence.

Ex. The corgi, who had been rummaging in the garbage, smelled nasty.

If we are trying to find out what the word "nasty" means, the context clue in this sentence is "rummaging in the garbage". Garbage has a bad smell to it, a very unpleasant smell. Therefore nasty means unpleasant.

Answer:

1. The movie opens with the following statement from Christof: "We’ve become bored with watching actors give us phony emotions. We’re tired of pyrotechnics and special effects. While the world he (Truman) inhabits is, in some respects, counterfeit, there is nothing fake about Truman himself. No scripts, no cue cards. It isn’t always Shakespeare, but it’s genuine. It’s a life." What is that Christof means when he states that “there is nothing fake about Truman himself.
