<h3>✰<u>Given</u>:-</h3>

➾Length(L) of bigger rectangle = \sf{9+3\: =\:12}units.

➾Length(l) of smaller rectangle = 9units.

➾Breadth (B) of bigger rectangle = \sf{4+4 \:=\: 8}units.

➾Breadth(b) of smaller rectangle = 4 units.

<h3>✰<u>To Find</u>:-</h3>

➾Area of the shaded region.

<h3>✰<u>Solution</u>:-</h3>

➾We can find the area of shaded region by subtracting area of smaller rectangle from area of bigger rectangle(that is whole rectangle including shaded and non shaded region).

So,

➾<u>Area of bigger rectangle</u> = \sf{L×B}(putting the value of L and B from the above given)

= \sf{8×12}

= \sf{96unit^2}

Similarly,

➾<u>Area of smaller rectangle</u> = \sf{l×b}(putting the value of l and b from the above given)

= \sf{9×4}

= \sf{36unit^2}

Now,

➾<u>Area of shaded region</u> = Area of bigger rectangle - Area of smaller rectangle.

\sf{= 96-36}

\sf{= 60unit^2.}

Therefore, area of shaded region\sf{= 60unit^2.}

\bold{\huge{\underline{ Solution }}}

<h3><u>Given </u><u>:</u><u>-</u></h3>

  • We have given one rectangle whose 3 by 4th part is shaded and remaining part is non shaded.

<h3><u>To </u><u>Find </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u></h3>

  • We have to find the area of shaded region of the given figure .

<h3><u>Let's </u><u>Begin </u><u>:</u><u>-</u><u> </u></h3>

<u>Here</u><u>, </u><u>We </u><u>have </u>

  • The dimensions of large rectangle as 12 units and 8 units
  • <u>That </u><u>is</u><u>, </u>
  • \sf{ Length = 9 + 3 = 12 \: units}
  • \sf{ Breath = 4 + 4  = 8 \: units}
  • The dimensions of non shaded rectangles are 9 units and 4 units

<u>We </u><u>know </u><u>that</u><u>, </u>

Area of rectangle

\bold{\red{ = Length {\times} Breath }}

<u>Subsitute </u><u>the </u><u>required </u><u>values</u><u>, </u>

Area of large rectangle

\sf{ = 12  {\times} 8 }

\sf{ = 96 \:units^{2}}

Thus, The area of large rectangle is 96 units² .

<h3><u>Now</u><u>, </u></h3>

Area of non - shaded rectangle

\sf{ = 9 {\times} 4 }

\sf{ = 36\: units^{2}}

Thus, The area of non shaded rectangle is 36 units² .

<h3><u>Therefore</u><u>, </u></h3>

Area of shaded region

= Area of large rectangle - Area of non shaded rectangle

<u>Subsitute </u><u>the </u><u>required </u><u>values</u><u>, </u>

\sf{ = 96 -  36}

\sf{ = 60\: units^{2}}

Hence, The total area of shaded region is 60 sq.units.
