Sharon’s turtle escaped from her backyard sometime in the last few hours. According to her calculations, the farthest the turtle

could have gone is 4 blocks down the road in either direction. If Sharon lives on the 112th block of town, which equation can be used to find the block numbers that represent the farthest distance that the turtle may be? |x – 112| = 0 |x – 112| = 4 |4 – 112| = x |112 – 4| = x

Answer with explanation:

Block on which Sharon Lives = 112th Block

It is given that ,turtle escaped from backyard and the turtle could have gone is 4 blocks down the road in either direction.

So, the turtle could go till : 112 +4 =116 block , in forward Direction.

or, it can go till : 112 -4 =108 block , in backward Direction.

So, if x is the position of turtle ,that is either 4 blocks right or 4 blocks left,if distance is taken as subset of real numbers, then we can represent it as:

→ 116 ≤ x ≤ 108

⇒112+4 ≤ x ≤ 112-4

⇒4 ≤ x-112 ≤ -4

|x|=x,if x≥0

and - x, if x<0.

⇒| x-112| =4

→Option B: | x-112|=4,here we are considering integral values of x only.

Answer:

H

Step-by-step explanation:

To find purple, you divide 162 by 3 as there are 3 people who like red for every one person who like purple. To find blue, you need to divide 162 by 3, which is 54, and then multiply it by 9 because there were 9 people who like blue for every person that liked purple.
