Which of the following is an example of indirect perception checking? a. asking a friend why she is smiling b. observing your mo
bezimeni [28]

The correct answer is B. Observing your mother’s actions to see if she is angry

Explanation:

The term perception checking refers to different processes you make in order to check or prove/ disprove your perceptions in relation a situation or the words of a speaker, this perception cheeking can occur directly or indirectly. Direct perception checking occurs if you directly ask someone if your perception and interpretation is correct. On the other hand, indirect perception occurs when you do not ask directly but continue observing and listening to determine if your first perceptions and interpretations are correct to validate them or correct them if necessary. Considering this, an example of indirect perceptions checking is "Observing your mother’s actions to see if she is angry" because in this case, the strategy is not to ask directly to check if your perceptions about a situation were right, but to continue observing and listening to check them which is exactly what indirect perception checking is about.

Full Question:

Read the excerpt from The Dark Game.

On several occasions Room 40 received an unexpected but welcome gift when a German codebook was recovered after a sea battle and presented to the British code breakers. One such gift was a codebook from the German ship Magdeburg, a light cruiser that ran aground on an island off of Finland. When Russian ships quickly bore down on the cruiser, the captain of the stranded ship immediately did what all naval officers were taught to do: he ordered his signalman to bring him the ship's codebook so he could throw the book, wrapped in lead covers, into the sea. But before the signalman could deliver the book to his captain, he was killed by Russian guns. When the Russians recovered his body, the sailor was still clutching the codebook in his arms.
